Cory Lawler races into Indiana Icebreaker with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
With Friday's event at Atomic Speedway (Chillicothe, Ohio) pushed to Sunday afternoon, Cory Lawler opened up two days with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on Saturday at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway for the Indiana Icebreaker.
Lawler recorded the 5th fastest lap in group A qualifying then earned a spot in the $25,000-to-win show by finishing 3rd in the 1st heat race. In the main event he started in the 9th spot and while running in the 11th spot got collected in a spin by Shirley relegating him to the tail of the field for the restart. He went on to salvage a 19th place finish. The following night, Cory just missed a transfer spot in his B-Main and did not start in the Buckeye Spring 50 due to time constraints before the main event.
